![]() One of the reasons I chose to launch #90daystomydreamjob is because just a few weeks ago I was so close to landing a dream job with a large company in Phoenix, AZ. So close that I envisioned the details of my new work environment and already felt the thrill of immersing myself in a new job. Each time I got asked to proceed in the interview process I grew more hopeful, but that cautious voice in the back of my mind reminded me to keep on with the job hunt right until I signed an official offer. I never prepared more thoroughly for an interview before. I read its 10K from cover to cover, I developed relationships with many of its employees for almost a year prior, and I wrote out every STAR story that I could think of covering 13 years of my career—now that’s a lot of stories. But after many days of silence following the final interview, I just knew I didn’t get it. When a company wants you they let you know pronto. Yet I was rather surprised that it took me almost a month to get re-motivated to start the process: All. Over. Again. Despite reading articles to get me back on track I still wasn’t feeling it. By making this commitment to post and share my job hunt journey on social media for the next 90 days I finally feel pumped to get back up and try again. Here’s to getting that cigar!
