Here on the East Coast in the US we are bracing for the first snow storm of the season. 12-18 inches of snow with wind gusts of up to 60 mph are expected depending on location. This doesn’t sound like any of our normal wintry mixes—this is in the official category of BIG, SCARY BLIZZARD.
What is it about snow that gets people and news channels all worked up? On the surface, it’s easy to see the havoc snow causes on countless roads, pole lines and the average household driveway. But deep down the pervasive nature of snow reminds of some of our biggest fears. Snow has the potential to leave us helpless and vulnerable.
We can’t stand to feel this way in any situation (personal, professional, you name it), but I’ve noticed that it’s only when I allow myself to feel this that wonderful things start to happen.
Enjoy the blizzard.
