Yesterday I listed some of the things that I planned to accomplish: write and send emails, submit a job application and have an informational interview. I only completed about ¾ of that. Today I’m still working on finalizing and sending the last of those emails and I’m hoping to get to that job application before the end of the day.
The phrase is common, but so true: job hunting is a full-time job. I am taken aback some days by how much there is to do and how long each task takes (particularly the job applications). And because the only real measure of success is landing a job, there’s always an idea or strategy to pour time into and try.
For those of you who also struggle in your quest to land your dream job, take heart. We’re doing the right thing by managing the work of job hunting as we would in a conventional paying job.
