The last week is finally here.
I've been blogging about the job hunt every single day for nearly three months and this Tuesday I'll write my last post for the 90 Days To My Dream Job blogging challenge.
I started this challenge on December 1 because I had been working on landing my dream job for several months prior and I needed a tool to keep me motivated, possibly noticed by a hiring manager and hired.
I've explained in previous posts what my dream job is, but in essence I describe it as helping people become the best leaders they can be, both in and out of the office.
I've thought long and hard about which companies I could do this type of work for, applied to so many HR positions that I've lost count and still I wait to be formally hired to do my dream work.
Yet throughout this blogging challenge I couldn't shake the following nagging thoughts: What if I just started doing my dream work as I continued with the job hunt? What if I offered my services as an independent 'leadership development consultant' coaching employees and building orientation and development programs that keep employees engaged and motivated in their careers?
I wouldn't give up on landing a full-time position in Phoenix, AZ since there are too many immediate expenses and too little savings left. But offering my services independently would create an outlet for me to do the work I love while continuing in the job hunt.
